If you could only save one thing in a house fire (thing, not person), what would it be and why?

i am assuming they're including pets in the person ideal, so i'm going to cheat and pick both my desktop and laptop computers, because the data loss would suuuuuuck. if i had an offsite backup, though, i would choose... this envelope of family pictures that my grandmother sent me, that i don't have scanned yet, so they can never be replaced.
